- Her research focuses on the socio-political dimensions of natural resource management and rural development.
- She has undertaken fieldwork in many countries, including Kenya, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
- Her current research includes smallholder resource use, natural resource conflict management (particularly human-wildlife conflict), and natural resource decision-making.
