  • Dr Peta Jeffries is an ethnographic historian in ‘Australian and Aboriginal histories’, a lecturer and practicing visual artist who has published and exhibited works.
  • Her research focuses on interrogating the memorialisation and commemoration of the solo-(anti)hero explorer myth, to consider diverse and often neglected or erased participants in the construction of social/cultural/political/ecological knowledges.
  • She has undertaken fieldwork in various parts of Australia, including western Victoria and the semi-arid regions of western NSW, SA, and QLD to carry out ecological and cultural heritage research.
